SisterCare is a nonprofit initiative operating under the umbrella of Linder’s Helping Hands, dedicated to strengthening the well-being, safety, and resilience of women and children in both America and Africa. The organization was founded on the belief that when women are supported — emotionally, spiritually, physically, and economically — entire communities are strengthened.

SisterCare creates environments where women build meaningful, lasting relationships while also addressing urgent community needs through direct service and practical intervention.

The organization’s first initiative focused on maternal support. After experiencing an unexpected emergency during childbirth and realizing how many essential supplies were required for hospital delivery in Ghana, Founder Bequita Linder Mahama was moved to act. What began as a personal realization evolved into SisterCare’s first project: distributing maternity supply bags to women giving birth in Ghanaian hospitals. That initiative transformed a moment of vulnerability into structured community impact.

Building on that foundation, SisterCare has expanded its mission to address broader public health gaps affecting women and children — particularly in areas where emergency medical response systems are limited. Through CPR and First Aid training programs and the installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in schools, churches, and community centers, SisterCare is developing locally anchored emergency response capacity led by trained mothers and women leaders.

By equipping women with life-saving skills and infrastructure, SisterCare moves beyond charity toward sustainable systems-building. The organization’s model is simple but powerful:

Train Women. Equip Communities. Strengthen Survival.

Under the leadership of Founder, Bequita Linder Mahama, SisterCare continues to bridge diaspora engagement with community-based implementation, ensuring that care is not only compassionate — but practical, measurable, and enduring.
